Summer Student Field Work Report

July 12, 2012

Water sampling on Noell Lake On Tuesday June 26th I got the opportunity to travel out to Noell Lake and do some water sampling with Erika and William. We sampled by boat at 7 sites, where 3 samples (3m, 4.5m and 8m depths) were taken at each. The water samples that we were taking from each site were low level nutrients, cations, anions, carbon, ammonia, and chlorophyll. While I was retrieving these water samples Erika was taking zooplankton samples from each site and William managed the boat to keep us from drifting too far from each site, while also using the YSI to record information from various depths in the lake.
