ARI Resources

At the Aurora Research Institute, one of our goals is to build connections between the public and researchers. One way we do this is by producing resources:

The Compendium of Research is our annual summary of research licences/permits that were issued in the territory. This resource allows readers to stay up-to-date on what research is currently being carried out in NWT communities.

Our Publications and Reports introduce readers to research projects in greater detail, present the results and discuss the importance of past or ongoing projects. Here, readers can see firsthand how research in the north is making important discoveries and providing valuable scientific data.

The Aurora Research Institute Library (housed at the Western Arctic Research Centre) was built to preserve rare and important government reports, reference materials, and publications in the physical, biological and social sciences from the past four decades. This public resource makes important scientific and historical information available to communities and researchers.

Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Aurora Research Institute is situated on the traditional territories and homeland of the Dene, Inuvialuit, Métis and Cree peoples of the Northwest Territories. We are grateful to the many Indigenous peoples of the NWT for allowing us the opportunity to learn, work and live on their lands. We are also deeply grateful for the generous sharing of Indigenous Knowledge, wisdom and ways of knowing, being, doing and believing with our students and employees.
