Speakers Tom Andrews and Leon Andrew Presenting at Thebacha Campus March 27th

March 25, 2014

ARI welcomes Tom Andrews and Leon Andrew to Thebacha campus for the next installation of the Conoco Phillips Scientific Speaker Series on Thursday, March 27!

Join us for a screening of the long lost Jean Michéa documentary - footage taken in 1957 by a French anthropologist depicting his journey with several Shútagot’ine families from Yellowknife to the Keele River. The footage returned to France until a group of Elders asked Tom to recover the footage. After twenty years of searching the footage was returned to the north.

Stay for an afternoon session as Tom and Leon discuss the history and construction of the mooseskin boat - traditional transportation method of the Shútagot’ine.
