The fourth summer series talk will be on Thursday, July 25th from 7-8 pm at the Aurora Research Institute in Inuvik. We have three speakers on July 25th.
The first, Kirsten Reid, is a PhD Candidate at Memorial University in Newfoundland and works with Northern EDGE Lab. Kirsten's talk, "What Influences Tree Range Expansion in the Western Subarctic," is sure to appeal to anyone interested in learning more about trees.
Our second guest speaker is Kira Holland, a Masters of Science student in the Department of Geography & Planning at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Kira's talk, "Ice Wedges: A History of Winter Climate in the Mackenzie Delta,' will provide further insight into climate change in the region.
The third guest speaker, is Sarah Lord, Fisheries & Forestry Biologist with the Gwich'in Renewable Resources Board. Sarah's talk, 'Whitefish Monitoring in the Peel River and Mackenzie Delta,' will discuss GRRB's whitefish monitoring program.
Come out for an interesting evening and learn more about research in Inuvik. As always, there will be snacks and door prizes, and most importantly, you get a chance to learn more about science.
