North Slave Research Centre

Since 1995, the North Slave Research Centre (NSRC) has been part of Aurora College. Initially located at the Yellowknife campus, the NSRC is now housed on the 11th floor of the Precambrian Building in downtown Yellowknife, at 4920 52 St. The NSRC serves the city of Yellowknife and extends its reach to neighboring communities north of Great Slave Lake, including Behchoko, Gameti, Wekweeti, and Whati. The center plays a crucial role in supporting various research activities throughout the region.

We engage in both contractual research and studies tailored to community needs. Additionally, we conduct STEM outreach in the surrounding communities, fostering an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The NSRC strengthens ties between researchers, community organizations, and government departments, while also assisting in the recruitment of local research assistants. This office proudly hosts ARI's experts and research chairs in health and social sciences.
