Aurora Research Institute
Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided

The duo will be in Inuvik to speak about the 10-year Partnership Agreement that was signed by Wilfrid Laurier University and the GNWT in 2010. The goal of the agreement is to to expand the Territories’ capacity to conduct environmental research and monitoring. The Partnership is now preparing to conduct research in the Sahtu and Mackenzie Delta regions. Their work will improve understanding of climate change impacts on trees and shrubs, permafrost, snow, stream flow, and lake levels in the region, and will improve the predictive tools needed to effectively guide the long-term stewardship of water resources in the NWT.

Dr. Marsh and Dr. Sonnentag will provide details on the Partnership, and outline research plans in the Mackenzie Delta and the uplands to the east of the Delta.
